Same problem with HP Elitebook 745 G2, 2x8GB DDR3-1600. memtest from ubuntu 20.04.1 installer (memtest-5.01) freezes after two seconds (first test at 51%). This happers every time. Tested single RAM chip at a time.
memtest from ubuntu 18.04.2 installer (memtest-5.01) works.
