FWIW, I am running xubuntu 20.04.1 on a Lenovo e495 with Ryzen 7 and
Vega 8. Based on discussions like this I opted to install the 5.6 OEM
kernel from the standard repositories for some tests. I have not had any
issues in this context since then and plan to stick with it. It works
standalone, on battery as well as connected to a usb3 dock running 2
additional monitors.
