This bug is affecting me too on Ubuntu 20.04 on a Macbook Pro 15". Took
me several installations and quite some hours to figure out, what the
reason for misbehaving and overheating was, should have launched top
right away.

For me the workaround with suspending after boot works fine, too. But it
is also kind of annoying to suspend once after booting the computer.
