Actually, I found the linux-backports-modules for 2.6.20-16-generic on the following site:
http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/l/linux-backports- modules-2.6.20/ So, if apt-get could not find the package, the reason is probably that my sources.list is missing a line or two. Anyways, the linux-backports- modules for 2.6.20-15 did not contain anything whereas the one for 2.6.20-16 contained the module for e1000-ich9. After modprobing this module, the network interface was detected and the network also worked. So, this bug can be safely closed. -- Northern Micro P5Q35-AS network controller not detected on Feisty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/175711 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
