I have the same kind of problem with this cpu (see bugreport https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/175310): $ cat /proc/cpuinfo processor : 0 vendor_id : AuthenticAMD cpu family : 15 model : 36 model name : AMD Turion(tm) 64 Mobile Technology ML-34 stepping : 2 cpu MHz : 1800.210 cache size : 1024 KB fdiv_bug : no hlt_bug : no f00f_bug : no coma_bug : no fpu : yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid level : 1 wp : yes flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush mmx fxsr sse sse2 syscall nx mmxext fxsr_opt lm 3dnowext 3dnow up pni lahf_lm ts fid vid ttp tm stc bogomips : 3603.94 clflush size : 64
Now, how can I disable the cpufreq module loading at startup? By manually doing this: sudo cpufreq-set -g performance #sets max cpu speed correctly sudo modprobe -r powernow_k8 I permanently get the max cpu speed, as I (often) need. Note that the first step works because generally the max frequency reported by cpufreq-info is correct just after pc startup. -- Cpu frequency scaling is limited to stock speeds https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/132403 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
