As you mentioned, this looks like it could be related to bug 130124 or
bug 174669.

Could you please give us a list of the partitions that were on the
computer when trying to install?

You can do that by entering this command in the command line (it will ask you 
for your password, enter it and press enter):
sudo fdisk -l

Also, if you are going to try and install it again, possibly with an
Alpha of Hardy, please use this guide to attach some important files.
