I actually think this is either a bug with systemd or a change in how it handles the services which apport-autoreport includes. I've tested this by changing /usr/lib/systemd/system/apport-autoreport.service so that it contains the following:
ExecStart=/usr/bin/aplay /usr/share/sounds/sound-icons/canary-long.wav Then if I touch a .crash file in /var/crash e.g. touch '/var/crash/canary.crash I ended up hearing the canary sound 5 times then a pause and then the canary sound multiple times again. On Ubuntu 20.04 the same test case results in the canary sound being heard only one time. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1891657 Title: systemd 100% cpu usage apport-autoreport.service: Failed with result 'start-limit-hit' To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apport/+bug/1891657/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
