That's a feature of Wayland sessions, not a bug. Because in a Wayland session gnome-shell *is* the display server so restarting it would kill all apps, unlike Xorg sessions. > .geometry specified in the .config for apps like Mpv are ignored in wayland sessions Please open a new bug about that (and with more details) by running: ubuntu-bug mutter > .my computer froze on a wayland session We will make this bug about the freeze. To debug it further, please: 1. Follow these instructions to check for crashes: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Responses#Missing_a_crash_report_or_having_a_.crash_attachment 2. Next time the freeze happens, press Alt+SysRq+(R,E,S,U,B). And immediately after it reboots run: journalctl -b-1 > prevboot.txt and attach the resulting text file here. ** Summary changed: - Wayland is still unstable with ubuntu 20.04 + Computer froze on a wayland session ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1893984 Title: Computer froze on a wayland session To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1893984/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
