Public bug reported: I was installing 20.04 on USB over 17.10. Separate partitions for / (100 GB), /boot (35 GB), and swap (16 GB). efi partition 100 GB. First attempt I checked the box for format for / and /boot. Installer hung and I rebooted to to main drive and couldn't find efi partition. Tried install again and it crashed. And here we are. No syslog or partman log because you don't give instructions to do so until I get here and it's too late. Sorry.
