The problem is Ubuntu only, as [1] is good. And the real fix should be in dbus-test-runner, but without repro it will be unclear if anyone gets to that or if we just hope it resolves itslef (again).
But due to the above it makes no sense to submit the fix to Debian - as for them it would reduce test coverage.
