I can confirm that after installing the package `alsa-tools`, then the following command will restore sound on headphones instantaneously:
sudo hda-verb /dev/snd/hwC0D0 0x1a SET_PIN_WIDGET_CONTROL 0x5 In the meantime I did try a newer kernel, linux- headers-5.7.0-050700_5.7.0-050700.202006082127, but without success.
