I have a similar problem with my T61. I tried to provide the output of "sudo get-edid|parse-edid", but it says get-edid command not found. It appears that read-edid package is not available for amd64. I can work around the problem by choosing a LCD monitor, but then I there are some problems with the display on a projector.
