AFAICS you're doing everything correctly. Unfortunately the software
doesn't :) The stack must be completely overwritten/corrupted when it
crashes.

Is it crashing as soon as you start the tremulous program? Then you
might be able to trace the program start-up and see what causes the
crash. If you are able to set breakpoints in the program just before it
crashes, you can try attaching to the server at this point.
