Thanks for reporting and help making Ubuntu better.

I get the same error message when attempting to run gitinspector on
20.04, so marking confirmed. I've also added a bug watch for the Debian
bug you found under also affects.

As the other bug report mention, if the issue has been fixed, it might
be possible to get at Stable Release Update applied to 20.04, please see
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#Procedure for more
information on this.
