The chromium-browser package is now a transitional package that installs the
chromium snap, which might take some time depending on your internet connection
and on the snap store CDN.
Since the snap is downloaded and installed in the package's post-install
script, there is no way to accurately report the real progress, which
might be why you thought it was stuck and cancelled it?
Please try re-installing, and let us know how it goes:
