Visit https://www.cacert.org/ and I get an error that the site cannot be verified for "unknown reasons" (Firefox) and in Konqueror, the "Certificate Signing Authority is unknown or invalid." So, no, I don't think its been solved or fixed -- both browsers, and others too, should recognize the site and accept the CACert SSL certificates.
