Thank you for your feedback, Pedro. The first thing that caught my attention was the "dbeaver" thing. Where did you install it from? Because it is not in the Ubuntu archives, so it's not an official Ubuntu package. Another thing worth mentioning is the fact that, if dbeaver asked you to download and install a third- party driver to MySQL, then this probably caused MySQL's internal state to be inconsistent.
Last, but not least, I was perfectly able to run "lsb_release -a" on a Ubuntu 20.04 machine, which is yet another indicator that there might be something wrong with your system.
