After logging out and back in the CPU usage seems lower, but without anything but a terminal open gnome-shell is still the biggest user of the CPU at around 1-2% continuously. After gnome-shell the second highest user is: Xorg vt2 -displayfd 3
I see there is an update for gnome-shell, so I will try an update now. jpmeijers@jpmeijers-XPS13-9333:~$ apt policy gnome-shell gnome-shell: Installed: 3.36.1-5ubuntu2 Candidate: 3.36.2-1ubuntu1~20.04.1 Version table: 3.36.2-1ubuntu1~20.04.1 500 500 http://uk-mirrors.evowise.com/ubuntu focal-updates/main amd64 Packages *** 3.36.1-5ubuntu2 100 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 3.36.1-5ubuntu1 500 500 http://uk-mirrors.evowise.com/ubuntu focal/main amd64 Packages -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1880723 Title: gnome-shell high CPU usage on Ubuntu 20.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1880723/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
