** Summary changed: - x11vnc keeps display blazing away forever + x11vnc keeps display blazing away and keeps laptop from sleeping
** Description changed: On my lappy i'm running x11vnc -forever -noxdamage -nowf -usepw and on my desky i'm running vncviewer, which works pretty well, as the lappy keyboard and touchpad aren't quite as handy as a real keyboard and mouse. Odd thing is tho, the lappy screen will usually still be on even when i've been away for hours. Not always tho. And if x11vnc isn't running it doesn't happen at all. for awhile i thought it correlated to whether i happened to leave the desky mouse on top of the vncviewer window or not, but eventually found that doesn't correlate. i also wondered whether my mouse might wiggle a little, but when it's not even near the vncviewer window that can't be it. And it wouldn't be the laptop touchpad, as it just doesn't happen if x11vnc isn't running. Also it happens whether the window manager on the laptop is twm, openbox, or kde plasma. i judge this to be a bug, not a rfe, since, even with x11vnc, display - timeout and powerdown do work at least occasionally, tho more often not. + timeout, and laptop suspend, do work at least occasionally, tho more + often not.
