 dar is part of the Disk ARchive suite (Release 2.6.8)
 dar comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY; for details
 type `dar -W'. This is free software, and you are welcome
 to redistribute it under certain conditions; type `dar -L | more'
 for details.

Note "Remote repository support    : NO" and because of that dar works,
but at the end archive size is zero, if archive is copied to the SSHF or
S3 file system (or probably any other network mounted file system).

For older Ubuntu versions dar was compiled with better settings:
