I can easily reproduce this bug on Ubuntu 20.04 with right and left clicking on the desktop to open the context menu alot. On many different machines and virtual machines. This does NOT happen for me when gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons is deactivated. On some machines I have to explicitly do the desktop context menu thing to force it (otherwise it will not happen) on some machines it randomly happens even if I do not click on the desktop. The latter is pretty annoying.
