Thanks for taking your time to report this issue and help making Ubuntu better.
I've attached a corresponding bug report for Debian, latest version of the package has switched over to Python3. That has been synced and is currently in groovy-proposed. Looking at the patch (https://salsa.debian.org/debian/trash- cli/-/commit/e338213ce3e89a31407d3739c7fa6c0c39e7f404) this might be small and non-intrusive enough that a fix for 20.04 could be applied as a Stable Release Upgrade ( https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#Procedure) ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #938719 https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=938719 ** Also affects: trash-cli (Debian) via https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=938719 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Tags added: focal groovy packaging -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1876453 Title: trash-cli depends on Python2, but is already Python3-compatible To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/trash-cli/+bug/1876453/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
