I apologize for slightly incorrect bug report. The playground is not in /var/games/nethack as it seemed to me (me, who does not know how the "playground" is supposed to look like), but you correctly point out at
/usr/lib/games/nethack However, the documentation (man page I refered to in my bug report) asserts that it is in /usr/games/lib/nethackdir The document is wrong.
