Public bug reported: auto-apt-proxy waits too long if there is no answer on the network.
My apt-cacher-ng is not on localhost, or the gateway but a separate machine on the LAN. Apparently, auto-apt-proxy cannot detect the cache in that case (whereas squid-deb-proxy-client can). This lead to "apt update" hanging for about 10 minutes each time. Please make sure to time out after no more than 2 seconds. # apt update [...]14 lines of output from repositories[...] Reading package lists...
