Public bug reported:

Xubuntu 20.04 beta
The battery indicator charges up to 82% for max charge.
Battery discharges normally to about 30-40% before unexpectantly crashing the
computer.
This bug is also in Xubuntu 18.04.

Due to the unexpected crash Xubuntu and Grub2 can become corrupted and
inaccesible! A clean reinstall is necessary to get the laptop working
again.

The battery works normal (charging/discharging) in OSX snow leopard.
