Public bug reported:

The Additional Drivers windows (and the ubuntu-drivers command) in my
system only list nvidia-driver-390 and nvidia-340 for installation with
my Nvidia GeForce GT 750M.

However, there are newer versions that can be installed through the
Synaptic Package Manager and are compatible with the card.

For example, nvidia-driver-440 (latest version available as of today).
