As of Edgy kernel 2.6.17.9.23 on AMD64, the bootup error message flashes the following message:
8254 timer not connected and then goes very slowly and grinds to a halt with the following message: [22.xxxxxx] irq 233: nobody cared (try booting with the "irqpoll" option [22.xxxxxx] handlers: [22.xxxxxx] [<ffffffff881110c0>] (ohchi_irq_handler*0x0/0x7ff [ochi 1394] [22.xxxxxx] Disabling IRQ #233 and then starts again. I was told on a MEPIS web site that my problem MIGHT be PARTLY that my BIOS should be upgraded from S3A19 to 3A23, but I have not tried this yet. -- freeze at startup https://launchpad.net/bugs/38263 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
