Public bug reported: Binary package hint: displayconfig-gtk
Resolution settings in the Screens and Graphics tool (displayconfig-gtk) are ignored upon reboot (or restart of x) if there is a different resoltuion set in the Screen Resolution tool (gnome-display-properties). For simplicity of use, and to avoid headaches for less technologically inclined users there should be 1 default tool to change resolutions. I would recomend Leaving the Screens and Graphics tool (as it is more powerful) and removing the Screen Resolution tool. Perhaps it could just be hidden by default in the Gnome menu? I like both tools, but having multiple places to change settings is not good when they dont talk to each other, and can have conflicting settings. If it were possible to keep both tools, but just have setting changes automatically synchronize between the 2 that could work too. ** Affects: displayconfig-gtk (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Conflicting tools to set resolution https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/173330 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
