Public bug reported: A left click with my mouse is sometimes taken as a double-click, resulting in menus opening and immediately closing, or going back two steps in a browser. The bug is intermittent, but frequent enough to be very annoying- sometimes it's necessary to click on a menu 4-5 times before it stays open. I believe this problem started quite recently.
I have a USB mouse and am using a laptop with a touch pad. I'm using Ubuntu 7.10.
