Public bug reported: Android studio requires qemu-kvm to emulate android images.
After installing qemu, libvirt-daemon-system, libvirt-clients and bridge-utils, my system (host) appears to function correctly but it consistently fails during shutdown. I have not actually run any android/qemu images so it is certainly not a guest issue. After removing the qemu related packages, the system is back to shutting down properly. I suspect the problem has a connection with the kernel. Going over the error messages in journalctl, I see that - only with qemu/libvirt installed - the following will appear when booting up: eb 29 14:02:10 Dapple kernel: ccp 0000:2a:00.1: sev command 0x4 timed out, disabling PSP Feb 29 14:02:10 Dapple kernel: ccp 0000:2a:00.1: SEV: failed to get status. I had to do a hard reboot to clear the lock.
