Public bug reported: Changing the metadata of ogg files with taglib 1.11.1 makes the ogg file unreadable for all known media players based on gstreamer or vlc. After applying the changes to the ogg header, the files are broken and there's no way to repair them.
This is why programs like Clementine or Sayonara ship their own versions of taglib. https://github.com/clementine-player/Clementine/issues/5524 The bug has been known and fixed for over three years. https://github.com/taglib/taglib/issues/775 https://github.com/taglib/taglib/issues/864 The fix: https://github.com/taglib/taglib/commit/9336c82da3a04552168f208cd7a5fa4646701ea4 This happens in all Debian versions since Debian Stretch and in all Ubuntu versions since Ubuntu Bionic Thank you in advance ** Affects: xubuntu-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1864676 Title: Taglib 1.11.1 corrupts ogg files To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xubuntu-meta/+bug/1864676/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
