Public bug reported:

upon trying to install on my thinkpad e555, when i hit the install button, the
installer crashes
The installer says that maybe the dvd is not clean or harddisk is faulty. I am
using a bootable usb and the harddisk is not faulty. I made the usb bootable
using rufus.
