Another data point. Same headline problem, but with a Brother HL-L3230CDW - Worked fine on 19.04 - No longer worked after upgrade to 19.10 - Still worked on the same computer when rebooting to my Windows 10 x64 partition. - Worked after a firmware update of the printer (which I installed from Windows using the Brother utilities).
