Public bug reported: I used Ubuntu on this machine starting with 16.04 LTS. The network PCI never worked but USB D-Link card did work... up to recently and then it stopped. I installed 18.04 LTS -- it read Airplane Mode On and nothing could be done. rfkill gave me phy0 soft block no, hard block yes. But f8+Fn only caused a pop-up message that Airplane Mod On or Off but not in the status bar -- there it was always on with an instruction to use hardware switch and setting wireless never worked. I installed KDE over Ubuntu 19 now and Airplane Mode can be turned On and Off but WiFi never turns on.
