Thanks. That's definitely a crash and sounds related to memory
corruption:

Dec 21 19:24:09 tv systemd[3388]: gnome-shell-x11.service: Failed with result 
'core-dump'.

But unfortunately it does not include a stack trace for some reason so
isn't usable. Maybe this is a problem with errors.ubuntu.com?
