This is still an issue in 19.10. Has there been any progress? Also, is there any explanation anywhere about why gnome-calculator is a snap and not a deb? I have to imagine fixing both this issue and the launch time issue (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome- calculator/+bug/1797734) are hard to fix and thus won't be fixed soon, and both would be solved if gnome-calculator wasn't a snap.
I see quick access to a calculator as a vital feature in modern operating systems (there's a reason why Windows, iOS, macOS, upstream GNOME, etc. has it built in to their search). It's a shame that it has been broken in Ubuntu for over one and a half years for such a seemingly trivial reason. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1753183 Title: Not able to do quick calculation via GNOME Activities To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-calculator/+bug/1753183/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
