Sry, I kinda always forgot to update you guys.

The mainline kernel 5.4 did nothing for me as well. However, switching
to deep suspend as suggested by Iulian Blajut did work for me.

Maybe a potential workaround, until the real reason why s2idle does not
work is found, could be to enable deep suspend by default for the
affected systems/chipsets.
