Public bug reported: In 19.04 using qt5-style-plugins to match a Qt application's theme to a GTK theme worked well. After a fresh install of 19.10, however, the Qt program will take ~30 seconds to load. This does not seem to be affecting users who upgraded from 19.04 to 19.10 or when done from the live ISO, only on fresh installs, bare metal or in a VM.
I originally reported this on Pop!_OS's github, but after some testing and input form others the bug seems to be a general problem with Ubuntu 19.10, rather than one specific to Pop 19.10. You can find my original report here: https://github.com/pop-os/gtk-theme/issues/394. Steps to reproduce: 1. Do a fresh install of Ubuntu 19.10 2. Install qt5-style-plugins and a Qt-based program such as KeePassXC 3. Add export QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=gtk2 to ~/.profile 4. Log out and back in for setting to take effect 5. Open the program 6. Wait This also happens when using Qt5-settings (qt5ct) and adding export QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=qt5ct to ~/.profile so I am unsure where exactly this bug is located. Also note that this problem did not occur when I tried this on a fresh install of Xubuntu 19.10. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: eoan -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1852642 Title: Qt-based programs take long time to open when using qt5-style-plugins for theme matching To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1852642/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
