Public bug reported: The updater fails, warns about third party PPAs. I have disabled all third party PPAs in package sources, but no luck, same error. It says I should use ppa-purge to remove third party launchpad ppa.
main.log says "Dist-upgrade failed: 'Das Paket »update-manager-core« ist zum Löschen vorgesehen, wurde aber durch das System gesperrt.'" "The package update-manager-core is marked for deletion, but has been locked by the system". It seems to me that it tries to uninstall update-manager-core, but can't, because it is on the blacklist. Makes no sense to me, why should the update-manager uninstall itself during the update? 1) Description: Ubuntu 19.04 Release: 19.04 2) ubuntu-release-upgrader-core: Installiert: 1:19.04.16.7 3) expected upgrader to upgrade my installation to 19.10 Eoan Ermine 4) Updater fails, logfiles attached ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 19.04 Package: ubuntu-release-upgrader-core 1:19.04.16.7 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.0.0-32.34-generic 5.0.21 Uname: Linux 5.0.0-32-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: wl ApportVersion: 2.20.10-0ubuntu27.1 Architecture: amd64 CrashDB: ubuntu CurrentDesktop: KDE Date: Fri Oct 25 20:45:51 2019 InstallationDate: Installed on 2018-04-30 (542 days ago) InstallationMedia: Kubuntu 18.04 LTS "Bionic Beaver" - Release amd64 (20180426) PackageArchitecture: all SourcePackage: ubuntu-release-upgrader UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to disco on 2019-10-25 (0 days ago) VarLogDistupgradeTermlog: ** Affects: ubuntu-release-upgrader (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug disco dist-upgrade -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1849885 Title: Upgrade Kubuntu 19.04 -> 19.10 fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1849885/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
