Suspend and Hibernate are known issues with Linux in general, and
certainly Ubuntu is no exception. For now, I would suggest the
workaround in http://linux.dell.com/wiki/index.php/Ubuntu_7.10/Issues
/8400M_Suspend_Hibernate-Failure (this is for nVidia, but should also
works for Intel video cards). Unfortunately, expecting suspend and
hibernate to work 100% of the time is not a reality at this time, but
are diligently working to get there at some point.
