I can confirm this bug as well. My laptop has been updated from Feisty to Gutsy (Kubuntu). It has an Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03) (santa rosa platform) and I run it with the vesa driver, as the native driver does not work for me (screen blanks out after login into KDE).
Ever since I upgraded to Gutsy the KDE screensavers do not kick-in automatically anymore.
