Same issue, here, on Latitude 5547 with Intel Haswell i3 and Haswell-ULT integrated (HD 4400) graphics. This laptop has fully upgraded hardware - new SSD, new 16GB RAM, new battery, new Wifi/BT card - and performs like a monster, running Windows, Manjaro, and most Ubuntu flavors, including a touchscreen. However, my goto is Ubuntu Studio (xfce), and that OS is where I'm getting the random freezes. It just locks up under no repeatable conditions. Sometimes it happens while I'm working, sometimes while I'm away from my desk, sometimes with apps running, sometimes with no apps open, so workload is not a factor.
One caveat to my experience: I'm able to use the Alt-Ctrl-F* keys to drop to a terminal, but nothing else works. No other keys on the keyboard respond, nor does the touchscreen receive input. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1798961 Title: Random unrecoverable freezes on Ubuntu 18.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/1798961/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
