Hi! I hope that it's not too late, but I'll try to give you some information anyway.
160 MB of Ram isn't enough to make ubuntu working right, so I suggest you to install xubuntu instead. Unless you want to have fun with complicate commands, I DON'T suggest you to install Xubuntu Gutsy because the final release has a bug which makes the system unusable after the installation so you need to type some commands in order to fix this. I would suggest you to install Xubuntu Feisty Alternate of PPC, here's the link : http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/xubuntu/ports/releases/7.04/release/xubuntu-7.04 -alternate-powerpc.iso You shouldn't have any problems during the installation. If your network isn't detected by Linux Ubuntu, it's possible that you don't get internet access. I think that you'll only know that once you will have it installed since you don't have enough RAM memory to start the live CD. Good luck. Because this bug is pretty old and is more about giving some help, I set the status to invalid, but feel free to post here if you have additional problems :) ** Changed in: casper (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- install CD does not boot on tray loading rev-a imac 233MHz https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/54122 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
