The white screen shows up when changing the graphics/resolution when changing
from X tot usplash or from uspslash to text (so at different times). It
should have something to do with how the graphics of the usplash screen is
done in relation to these specific graphical cards/drivers.

The behavior of this bug is inconsequent. Sometimes shutting down goes
allright (in my case). Most times not. It very much looks like that the
driver/graphical card ends up in an undifined state where it was not designed
for (so dangerous).

What happens is that the screen get's black and then slowly get's more and
more bright (as if it's black but with very bright settings). I think you 'll
need the propper hardware to test and solve this one (e.g. Toshiba satelite).

I do prevere to see what's loaded and unloaded so I didn't pay recent
attention to the usplash bug.
