Hi All, Thank you for your comments and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please note that if the -generic kernel works for you and the -386 kernel doesn't, please just use the -generic kernel. You can even feel free to uninstall the -386 version if you're not using it. The difference between the -386 and -generic kernel flavors are basically different kernel config options being flipped on/off. For example, the -386 flavor disables SMP support while the -generic flavor enables it. For now I'm going to close this report as it seems that there aren't issues when using the -generic kernel (according to the original report). If any of you still encounter any problems using the most recent 2.6.22-14 kernel that was shipped with the 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon release, please feel free to open a new bug report describing your issue. Thanks so much for your feedback, we really do appreciate it.
