Public bug reported: Hi the Team!
I run Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS (Bionic Beaver) 64-bit on Intel-based platform. I have noticed for ages that sometimes a dozen of programs where consuming much too CPU cycles. Amongst them were xdg-desktop-portal-gtk. And if I "kill -STOP" the PID of xdg-desktop-portal-gtk then all calm down and become responsive again. If fact the most affected applications were gedit, geany, firefox, google-chrome, and, last but not leas, the Xorg server itself!, hindering the usability of the whole system. Also, this bug maybe also affects default Ubuntu session/desktop/window manager or compositor, and non default ones, possibly. In hope this helps, Sincerely, Valentin. ** Affects: xdg-desktop-portal-gtk (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1834366 Title: xdg-desktop-portal-gtk package makes the computer crawl to the knees To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xdg-desktop-portal-gtk/+bug/1834366/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
