The problem seems to be related to locale definitions (e.g. /usr/share/i18n/pl_PL) and was introduced in Ubuntu Gutsy - Evolution worked fine in Feisty. As a workaround you may use locale definition from Feisty, or just patch LC_TIME definition in the appropriate file for you language with the one from Feisty.
