I got the same problem on my Kubuntu gutsy. Besides what was described above. Also the default download folder can't open by click it.
I don't know any reason for this. It used to be no problem in Ubuntu 7.04. I installed Kubuntu cleanly, not by upgrade, and use the old .mozilla folder that I backup.
