OS: Ubuntu 18.04.02 LTS Program: minicom User account: <user> Steps: ====== 1. Added <user> to group 'dialout' `sudo adduser <user> dialout 2. Logged user out from the graphical desktop (Gnome 3) What I expected to Happen: ========================== a) user is in group 'dialout' b) minicom to /dev/ttyUSB0 works What happened instead: ====================== * user is in group 'dialout' * minicom FAILS with 'permission denied' Somehow, the previous group information persists.
