This is a bit too technical for me to evaluate. In the changelog I see: kernel-package (10.049ubuntu5) edgy; urgency=low * Detect UTS_RELEASE_HEADER for 2.6.18 allows users to compile the 2.6.18 kernel. kernel-package (11.001) unstable; urgency=low * Bug fix: "kernel-package: make-kpkg debian fails if .config not present", thanks to Sami Liedes. (Closes: #416090). Not sure at all these are related. So I am confirming, letting package maintainer look at it.
